Composite Acoustical Sound Barrier

Description

Acoustical sound barrier.

Scientists at LSU AgCenter have created a brand-new kind of sound barrier using a special material made from plants and natural materials. The barrier blocks sound with a two-layer, core-shell structure that maximize its UV stability, durability, and antioxidant properties. This structure is made using a process called co-extrusion, which mixes important components into the two layers, ensuring that it is all the same size and weight.

Advantages:

  • Superior noise reduction
  • Durable
  • Inexpensive, natural materials
  • Light weight

Commercial Uses:

  • Highway sound barrier
  • Residential sounds barrier
  • Industrial sound wall
