Beef Poster Contest

This contest encourages participants to learn more about the beef industry while promoting beef industry, nutrition and products. This year’s theme is Beef- Very Healthful, Very Delicious. Posters must be on 22 by 28 inch poster board with the name, address, age, grade and parish on the back upper right corner. Digital entries must be designed using either Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Canva. All digital entries must be saved in high resolution 300 dpi in the following file formats: original design file, png, and pdf. No templates may be used in the digital division, and all design work must be original and from scratch. Participants cannot use copyrighted pictures, clip-art or other materials. The poster will be disqualified if copyrighted material is used. Parish winners will be sent to the State competition. State winners will be awarded $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place. Due April 13th.

Esports

Interested in Esports? 4-H is hosting regional tournaments for Junior Division (grades 4th-7th) and Senior Division (grades 8th-12th). Three titles are offered at each Regional Tournament, and Rocket League for 4-H university. The three titles are:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Junior Division only)
  • Rocket League
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Youth can compete in multiple titles at the same tournament! Senior Division teams competing in Rocket League will also be qualifying for their invitation to compete in the Finals at 4-H U.

The Central Region Tournament will be held March 21st at the Avoyelles 4-H Office in Mansura. Registration is only $5 plus $5 per title!!! Register by clicking here

2026 4-h University Update

Registration forms for 2026 4-H University will be released in March. All contests and event details will be discussed during school club meetings as well as at the March Junior Leader meeting.

Male Chaperones Needed for 4-H Summer Camp

Why Do We Need Male Chaperones?

To maintain appropriate supervision and cabin coverage, we must have enough male volunteers to support our

boys’ cabins and activities. Without adequate male chaperones, we risk having to limit the number of boys who can

attend camp.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone who enjoys working with youth and supporting positive camp experiences! Parents and guardians,

Community members, 4-H alumni (must be 25 years in age or older)

What’s Involved?

Supervising campers in cabins and during activities, Helping ensure a safe and structured camp environment

Participating in daily camp routines, Encouraging campers and contributing to a fun week!

4-H Summer Camp

Do you like swimming? Do you like to listen to music and dance? Do you want to learn new and exciting things and hang out with friends this summer? Then you need to attend 4-H Summer Camp! You must be in Grades 4th-6th. Avoyelles Parish will attend camp June 15-18, 2026. Registration link on 4-H Online is opening soon.

We are currently accepting deposits for our 2026 Summer Camp. The cost is $250. This covers transportation, registration, meals and snacks, and 3 nights of accommodation. While at camp, campers will participate in one of (6) educational tracks: Science, Engineering, and Technology; Outdoor Adventures; Gardening; Louisiana Wetlands; Food and Fitness; and Water Safety. Campers will also have recreational time to play various sports, archery, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, and line dancing. Other choices include team-building activities, performing arts and visiting with friends. Evening programs consist of skits, talent shows, Vespers, and special guest speakers. Submit your $100 non-refundable deposit, along with your form, asap to hold your spot. Forms can be found in the printed Clover Parle or you can call the office to request a form.

The deadline to submit deposits is April 10, 2026. Balance must be paid by May 22, 2026.
