In June, the Louisiana 4-H Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Banquet at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. This cherished event is a time-honored tradition where senior 4-H members come together to celebrate their years of dedication and hard work. During the banquet, scholarships are awarded to students, enabling them to pursue higher education at universities, colleges and trade schools.
Over the years, numerous generous donors have contributed both endowed and nonendowed scholarships, providing crucial financial support to our top students as they embark on the next chapter of their academic journey. In 2024 alone, there were 39 scholarships awarded for a total of $35,250. Each year, the number of scholarships continues to grow, reflecting the ongoing community commitment to support our youth.
Robust scholarship opportunities play a significant role in enhancing 4-H’s impact. They not only promote high school retention but also increase program participation. With these valuable resources, students recognize that 4-H serves as a vital springboard to their future careers and personal success.
If you or someone you know is interested in supporting the future of 4-H members through an endowed or nonendowed scholarship, please reach out to the Louisiana 4-H Foundation for guidance on the various options available to support 4-H members from Louisiana or even from your specific parish. Your contribution can make a profound difference in the lives of our talented students.
