The Aquatic Ecology Club strives to provide students with technical skills necessary for natural resources careers, increase collaboration among RNR students and those in adjacent fields, and foster an environment open to all that are interested in aquatic ecology. This newly founded club, however, relies on donations and fundraising to support club functions. Past fundraising efforts included auction hosting at the 2024 Louisiana American Fisheries Society conference, which generated funds necessary for providing a knot-tying course and other activities during the fall 2024 semester. In the future, there are plans to organize events that provide students with access to and knowledge of aquatic natural resources, including camping trips and fish identification courses. To assist with providing these opportunities, it is requested that readers spread awareness of the club and consider donating to support the club’s mission. Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to join and help build a community of individuals who are all invested in aquatic ecology.
