Parish Cookery Contest
Washington Parish 4-H members, it’s time to fire up your creativity in the kitchen! Join us for the
2026 Washington Parish 4-H Cookery Contest on February 26, 2026.. Participants will prepare their
best dish in their chosen category. This is a great opportunity to practice cooking skills, explore
new recipes, and compete for ribbons and awards!

Dairy Poster Contest
Show off your artistic talents in the Dairy Poster Contest, creating posters that highlight the Importance of dairy, healthy choices, and the hardworking dairy farmers across our state. Entries are due to the 4-H office by February 27th and must abide by the state guidelines. For more information, contact your school 4-H leader or Amy Varnado at avarnado@agcenter.lsu.edu.
Senior 4-H Honor Cords
The 4-H Honor Cord Award recognizes graduating seniors who have shown sustained commitment to 4-H
through parish and state programs. Eligible members must be currently enrolled, in good standing,
and have at least three years of 4-H participation during high school. They must also have taken
part in at least one state-sponsored program in the past three years or demonstrated exemplary
parish-level involvement.
Recipients will wear green and white cords at graduation as a symbol of leadership, service, and
achievement, marking them as Beyond Ready for future endeavors. please check out the Washington 4-H

Louisiana 4-H Scholarship
Louisiana 4-H is now accepting 2026 Scholarship Applications for graduating seniors. Eligible
applicants must be current 4-H members in good standing, graduating in 2026, and have at least
three years of recent 4-H involvement. Required attachments include a transcript, ACT/SAT scores,
and a recommendation letter from school personnel (not 4-H agents). Applications must be typed,
signed, and submitted to your parish 4-H office by the parish deadline—check with your local office
