• Last month, our agents accompanied the St. Helena College and Career Academy to the Southern University Livestock Show! They had a wonderful time learning about the agricultural process from local experts and the historic HBCU program. • 4-H Equine Club is now moving to Saturdays!



Volunteer Spotlight


Mr. Larry Overton is a dedicated St. Helena 4 H volunteer whose passion for youth development shines through his work with the Equine Club. As the owner of Overton Estates, a land based enterprise rooted in generational land stewardship, Mr. Overton creates hands on equine learning experiences that connect young people to land, leadership, and lifelong skills. At Overton Estates, he leads programs that blend education, mentorship, and community engagement, focusing on building sustainable systems that expand access and preserve local legacy. His commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for youth makes him an invaluable partner to St. Helena 4 H and a powerful example of how one person’s dedication can strengthen an entire community.

St. Helena Head Start hosts a family nutrition session where our NCH Agent will be attending to provide a recipe and resources for families.

The 4-H Cloverbuds will be attending the LSU AgMagic Fieldtrip to learn the ends and outs of agriculture through fun and interactive hands-on experiences!
