Washington Parish will hold the annual 4-H Achievement Day on April 2nd at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. Achievement Day is focused on celebrating 4-H members achievements through contests and awards ceremony. For more information about requirements and how to attend, please contact your child's 4-H school sponsor. For all other questions, please reach out to the Washington Parish LSU AgCenter Office.
4‐H University is held each summer on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Over 1,500 youth from across the state come together to compete, learn, lead, and grow through hands‐on experiences that highlight the best of 4‐H. During 4‐H University, participants have the opportunity to compete in tate contests, ranging from public speaking, STEM challenges, and photography to livestock demonstrations, consumer decision making, fashion, culinary arts, and citizenship. Youth who are not competing can participate in Clover College, a series of educational workshops where they explore new topics, develop leadership skills, and meet fellow 4‐H’ers from around Louisiana. Attending 4‐H University gives teens a first‐hand look at college life as they stay in LSU dorms, explore campus, and interact with university
students, faculty, and industry professionals. Washington Parish will be sending its delegation (insert dates or parish-specific details here). We are proud of our 4‐H’ers and look forward to cheering them on as they represent our parish at the state level!
For more information about contests, registration, or how to get involved, please contact the Washington Parish LSU AgCenter Office.
Camp is a great opportunity for youth to build confidence, make new friends, and learn in an outdoor setting supported by trained 4‐H staff and counselors. Campers will enjoy activities like swimming, archery, canoeing, outdoor skills, STEM, arts and crafts, and classic camp traditions including team challenges, dances, and cabin competitions. Our parish will attend camp July 6th - 9th. Spots fill fast, so families are encouraged to fill out the interest form early.
