Outstanding Member Banquet

The Outstanding Member and Volunteer Banquet is being held on April 28, 2026, at the Rayne Civic Center. This banquet is to recognize all this year’s outstanding 4-H members and 4-H volunteers for all the hard work that they put in throughout the year. If you were nominated by your school club as an outstanding member, you should have received an invitation to the banquet in the mail.

Ready for 4-H U!

4-H University (4-H U) is statewide 4-H event held on LSU campus. It is scheduled for June 23-25, 2026. 4-H members in 8th to 12th grade as of August 1, 2025, are eligible to participate in 4-H University to demonstrate their skills in more than 30+ competitive events. All participants that choose to partake in the in-person overnight event will be required to pay a total of $125.00. This includes registration and housing fee, and Rasing Canes meal for Thursday night only (non-refundable and other meals are not included). The pre-registration and a $60.00 deposit will be due April 27, 2026. Register here https://tinyurl.com/Acadia4HU26. 4-H University offers contests that range from Demonstrations, Automotive Care, Fishing Sports, Public Speaking, Fashion Revue, and more! Through competing, youth demonstrate life skills in teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, resiliency, and many more. Each competitive event allows youth an opportunity for personal growth, skill mastery, and other life skills vital to functioning members of society. If competing in a contest is not for you, 4-H University participants also have the option to participate in Clover College instead. The purpose of Clover College is to provide youth with an in-depth, hands-on learning opportunity focused on a specific topic of interest with a strong emphasis on college and career connection.Clover College is designed for youth participants to gain insight on potential college and career interests and opportunities. Achievement Day

We are excited about the 2026 Achievement Day and cannot wait to see everyone at Midland High on May 4, 2026! All youth attending will get the opportunity to take part in the fun and educational activities throughout the day! For more details, contact your school club leader. We cannot wait to see you there!

Once again, the 2025-2026 Achievement Day Service Project will be can pop tops! All clubs will turn in the pop top donations at Achievement Day on May 4, 2026. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House in Memphis, Tennessee. Please feel free to get the whole school involved and put out collection jars if you would like.

LOST Camp

LOST Camp is back and being held July 30- August 2, 2026, at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA! Registration for LOST Camp will open in the 4-H Online system on April 15, 2026. The deadline to register for camp is July 15, 2026. THERE WILL BE NO LATE REGISTRATIONS ALLOWED. Cost to attend is $200 this year including a t-shirt. Transportation is not provided. LOST Camp is open to all active Louisiana 4-H members who will be completing grades 7 and 8. These spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Contact the 4-H Office to register. Youth will be able to participate in one of these track options: SeaPerch, Drones, Video Production, Healthy Living, Outdoor Skills and more! Campers will also have recreational time to play various sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and line dancing. Other choices include team-building activities, performing arts, visiting with friends, and shopping for souvenirs in the Camp Store. Evening programs include skits, a talent show, and Vespers.

Horse Clinic

We are once again offering horse clinics this year for FREE! This year Acadia parish will be offering horse clinics every month! We will again team up with master horsemen throughout the region. The next clinic will be held at the Acadia Parish Rice Arena on April 27th from 6-8 PM. In order to attend youth, must be an approved 4-H member AND bring your own horse. Acadiana Open Horse Show

Join us for our fourth annual Acadiana Open Horse Show on July 12, 2026, at the Acadia Parish Rice Arena (159 Cherokee Drive Crowley, LA 70526). Registration opens through 4HOnline (https://v2.4honline.com/) on April 1, 2026, and closes on June 24, 2026. This event is open to all 4-H members across the state. There will be two divisions: 13 and under and 14 and older. Events will cost $16 each and include breakaway roping, tie down calf roping, boys goat tying, girls goat tying, barrel racing, flag race, stake race and pole bending. The top 5 winners from each event will be awarded. Check in is at 9 am and the show will start at 10 am. You MUST pre-register in order to attend this event. No day of registrations will be accepted.
