The Desoto Parish Cattlemen’s Association (DPCA) held their first quarterly meeting of the year on January 13, 2026, at DeSoto Parish Extension Office. President Henry Richardson opened the meeting and introduced the speakers: Mr. Joshua Salley, LSU AgCenter; Mr. Lynn DeLoach Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association (LCA) President; Mr. Ronnie Sale, LCA District 1 Vice President; Josh Black, DeSoto Parish Farm Bureau; Mr. Lee Faulk, LSU AgCenter; and Mr. Josh Gooden, DeSoto Soil and Water Conservation District Board Member.

Mr. Joshua Salley gave an update from LSU AgCenter on upcoming spring 2026 events. Mr. DeLoach spoke to the crowd on the recent LCA Convention and gave an update on recent legislation that affects Louisiana Cattlemen. Mr. Ronnie Sale, LCA District 1 Vice President, was also in attendance and visited with guests. After a great meal provided by Josh Black with DeSoto Parish Farm Bureau, the crowd heard a Beef Cattle Market Update from Mr. Lee Faulk. To conclude the meeting, Mr. Josh Gooden gave an update on the benefits offered from the local DeSoto Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) including feral hog traps, seed drilling, and other equipment that is available to rent from landowners.
