The weather was perfect for the DeSoto Parish Cattlemen’s Association Annual Summer Field Day on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 8:30a.m. to 12:00p.m. at The Branch Ranch in Mansfield, Louisiana. Topics of the way varied from: Spraying with Drones, Feral Hog Control Tips, Pasture Weed Control, Cattle Weight Contest, Livestock Risk Protection, programs offered by the local DeSoto Soil & Water Conservation District Program and a Calving Simulator for everyone to practice safe calving techniques.

Thank you to all of the speakers who taught us something, vendors who participated and let us try their product(s) and offered door prizes, Josh Black from DeSoto Farm Bureau for cooking lunch, Chris Long from Louisiana Farm Bureau for bringing snacks, Southern Ag Credit for sponsoring the meal, and the hospitality of The Branch Ranch for hosting the program.
