Welcome to the St. Charles Parish 4-H Youth Development Program website! This website is designed to bring you the latest information and opportunities in 4-H Youth Development, a research-based Extension program of the LSU AgCenter.
The 4-H Youth Development program encourages youth to use their Heads to clearer thinking, Hearts to greater loyalty, Hands to larger service, and Health to better living for their club, community, country, and world. Members “learn by doing” through hands-on experiential learning. 4-H Agents offer opportunities for youth to grow and “make their best better” by providing optimal educational experiences for youth in the form of school and project clubs, camps, trips, conferences, trainings, awards, contests, and much more. 4-H is more than just a club – it’s a family that spans generations of diverse people who come together for a common goal – youth development! We encourage you to browse this website to learn more about what 4-H has to offer and how to become involved.
I am Dr. Kali Zammit, the 4-H Agent for St. Charles Parish. My career in 4-H began as a 4-H member in 4th grade. As a true product of the 4-H Youth Development program, I grew through my involvement in the nation’s largest youth development organization as a 4-H member, 4-H Jr. Leader, camp counselor, Louisiana State 4-H Board member, trained 4-H adult volunteer and mentor, and now 4-H Agent. As a lifelong learner and educator, I graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary English Education with a minor in mathematics in 2008. I then became the 4-H Agent for St. Charles Parish in 2008 while attending Louisiana State University, where I received a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Education with a concentration in Adult, Extension, and Agricultural Leadership in 2012, a 4-H Youth Development Specialization in 2017, and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Agricultural and Extension Education and Evaluation in 2022.
As an Extension professional, I love giving back to an organization that has helped me to become the person that I am today. By providing research-based youth development programming of the LSU AgCenter, I strive to meet the needs of the youth in our St. Charles Parish community. If you have any questions or would like additional information regarding a specific youth development topic, please contact your 4-H Agent. We are your LSU AgCenter.
