Stout lab publishes collaborative research on host-plant use by an invasive scale

In collaboration with Dr. Rodrigo Diaz (LSU Entomology) and Dr. Andrea Glassmire (Michigan State University; formerly from LSU Biological Sciences), Mike and Alexia DeSoto published a paper in early January 2026 on within-plant distribution and host choice by Nipponaclerda biwakoensis (roseau cane scale). The paper presents some of the work Lexi did for her MS degree in the Stout lab. A link to the paper and an article about the paper published by Michigan State University can be found below.
