01. Bash on the Bayou (4-H/FFA Game Day Tailgate))

Mark your calendars for the 2026 4-H & FFA Bash on the Bayou on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 6:30 PM!

Come join Louisiana 4-H and FFA members, leaders, alumni, and supporters as we cheer on the LSU Tigers when they take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in Tiger Stadium. .

“Bash on the Bayou” is the annual LSU 4-H/FFA Game Day tailgate tradition. It’s a family-friendly event held on LSU’s campus (near the Mini Farm) that brings together Louisiana 4-H and FFA members, families, and alumni for food, fellowship, and Tiger spirit before an LSU home football game.

02. 2027 4-H/FFA Livestock Shows

East Baton Rouge Parish Show: January 16, 2027 Edmond Arena in Baker.

South Central District Show: Wednesday, January 27-30, 2027. Tentative location is St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds

LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show: Saturday, February 13 - Saturday, February 20 - Lamar Dixon Expo Center. Schedule and Catalog available on the LSU AgCenter website.


03. Virtual Labor Day Fishing Tournament

Kick off the 2026–2027 4-H year with our Labor Day Fishing Tournament!

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or casting a line for the very first time, we’d love to see what you reel in!

Open to ALL East Baton Rouge Parish youth—you do not have to be a current 4-H member to participate.

September 4–8

Awards Include:

  • Biggest Catch
  • Smallest Catch
  • Best Fishing Photo
  • Most Unique Catch
  • Young Angler Award (Cloverbuds)

4-H & FFA Day at the Capitol

East Baton Rouge Parish is preparing its delegation for 4‑H & FFA Day at the Capitol, scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026. This event provides students with an opportunity to learn about Louisiana government, participate in leadership activities, and engage with legislators.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Committee presentations by state 4‑H & FFA officers
  • Legislative visits
  • Capitol scavenger hunt
  • Armory, State Museum, and Old State Capitol tours
  • Lunch and program at the Pentagon Barracks

Cost: Youth – $20 | Adults – $10 (lunch included)

Who Can Attend: Enrolled 4‑H members in grades 4–12

Spots Available: Limited — first‑come, first‑served

4-H Night with the Pelicans

East Baton Rouge 4-H members had an unforgettable experience at the annual 4-H Night with the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Youth and Families enjoyed a night filled with basketball, 4-H spirit, and special fan experiences alongside 4-H members from across Louisiana.

Event Highlights

Participants had the opportunity to:

  • Attend the pregame tailgate party
  • Watch Pelicans warm-ups courtside
  • Participate in special fan experiences
  • Receive exclusive Pelicans promotional items
  • Celebrate Louisiana 4-H together at an NBA Game

4-H Summer Camp

July 20–23, 2026 | 4-H Camp Grant Walker

2026 Totals: 38 campers, 4 junior counselors, and 3 adult chaperons

East Baton Rouge 4-H is excited to head to 4-H Camp Grant Walker this summer for four days of fun, leadership, recreation, and unforgettable memories!

Camp is open to youth in grades 4th–6th during the 2025–2026 school year.

Junior Counselor Applications are closed!

We are currently looking for enthusiastic high school 4-H members in grades 9th–12th to serve as Junior Counselors for camp.

Junior Counselors:

  • Attend camp at no cost
  • Help lead activities and mentor younger campers
  • Gain leadership and teamwork experience
  • Build friendships with counselors and campers from across the parish and state.
  • Help create an unforgettable camp experience

June 23 – June 25, 2026 - LSU Campus (3rd Full Week of June)

4-H University is Louisiana 4-H’s premier event for members in grades 8–12 during the 2025–2026 school year. Participants spend three days on the LSU campus competing in statewide contests, attending Clover College sessions, developing leadership skills, and connecting with 4-H members from across Louisiana.

Whether youth are interested in public speaking, STEM, livestock, leadership, cooking, photography, or career exploration, 4-HU offers opportunities for every interest area.

At 4-H University 2026, all 7 East Baton Rouge members who interviewed for a State Leadership Board or Ambassador position were selected! We also had 3 youth participate in Clover College and 10 youth competed in contests.

Louisiana 4-H Food Challenge

The Louisiana 4-H Food Challenge gives youth the opportunity to showcase creativity, teamwork, culinary knowledge, and communication skills in a fast-paced cooking competition.

Teams work together to prepare a dish using a mystery ingredient while demonstrating nutrition knowledge, food safety, time management, and public speaking skills.


East Baton Rouge 4-H State Champions

East Baton Rouge 4-H is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our 2026 Food Challenge team!

Our Senior Division team earned:
1st Place – Division III - Abigail, Amari, Madison, Ella
and will represent Louisiana 4-H at the National Food Challenge Contest at the State Fair of Texas this September.

Tentative 2027 Date is February 27th.

EBR Invitational - Saturday, February 28th Bridgeview Gun Club. EBR Invitational Shoot! The shoot will occur on February 28, 2026, at the Bridgeview Gun Club in Port Allen, LA (1365 Northwest Dr, Port Allen, LA). Deadline to register is February 16th.
