The Lafayette Parish Fall Fest is the first big 4-H contest day of the school year! It is held each fall and open to all registered 4-H'ers. Students can enter any or all of the contests. Please review the 4-H Fall Fest Rules for more specific rules and regulations.

Pumpkin Decorating

All entries must be actual pumpkins or members of the pumpkin family. No craft pumpkins will be allowed.

4-H Members may enter one (1) pumpkin per category.

Categories include Life Skills, Animal, Louisiana Commodity and 4-H Spirit.

Cookery

Can you cook? Cook one of Louisiana-based commodities such as Rice, Seafood, Beef or Sugar in a dish and present it to the judges. See the rules for specifics on how to submit your dish.

4-H Poster

Create a poster that promotes 4-H and highlights the theme of the year. Posters are to be full-size poster boards and must not have glitter or anything attached or glued to the poster.

Bicycle Rodeo

Contestants will ride through a 6-obstacle skills course designed to test bicycle handling and safety skills. Points are deducted for mistakes, and extra penalties are given for failing to complete an obstacle. Bring your own bicycle and safety equipment.

Rabbit Show

Exhibitors should have already enrolled in the Rabbit Project in 4-H Online and have pre-registered. Contact the office for more information.

Dog Show

The Dog Show will be divided into classes based on each dog's size and age, including Small, Medium, and Large Breeds, with Adult and Puppy divisions. Bring your clean, well-groomed dog along with a current rabies vaccination certificate. All dogs must be on a leash, under control at all times and able to respond to basic commands.

Pet Show

The Pet Show will be open to all household pets except rabbits and dogs, since they each have their own show. Farm animals and captive wild animals are not allowed at Fall Fest. Cats will be divided into Long and Short haired classes with Adult and Kitten divisions. Birds will include all feathered animals. Marine will include fish, shellfish, reptiles and amphibians, and there will be a Miscellaneous category for any other animal not fitting in the previous categories.

Best Dressed Pet Show

All species of pets can compete. Divisions will be Elementary, Junior and Senior. The criteria for judging will be on creativity and final appearance.
