Amanda began working for The LSU AgCenter in August of 2002 and has been the 4-H Agent in Lincoln Parish since. As an LSU AgCenter Extension Agent, Amanda loves being able to bring research based educational programming to the community to help them thrive. During her time with The LSU AgCenter, Amanda earned her specialization in 4-H Youth Development from Louisiana State University. She has been an active member of the Association of Extension 4-H Agents on the State and National levels during her time as an Extension Agent.
Amanda grew up in 4-H and has experienced, firsthand, the benefits 4-H offers and knows they can last a lifetime. Her goal is to reach youth through a variety of 4-H opportunities that will help them gain life skills, find their spark, and lead them to success. She also strives to help youth build positive relationships with caring adults that will help meet the needs of young people for a rewarding future.
Amanda’s favorite thing about her job is that no two days are the same. One day she may be giving a presentation to educators about STEM curriculum available through 4-H and the next day she may be presenting line dancing to over 500 youth attending AgMagic at the State Fair.
Amanda is the proud mother of two wonderful daughters: Aubrey resides in Ruston, LA and is a School Psychologist with Lincoln Parish Schools; and Abigail, resides with her husband in Ruston, graduated with her Interior Design Degree from Louisiana Tech University and is the Manager at Lauren Roebuck Designs in Ruston, LA.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys live music, antiquing, thrifting, and spending time with her daughters. She also has a deep love for animals and spends a lot of time with her own family pets as well as tending to any animal she encounters that might need help.
