Shannan Chevallier.

Meet Shannan Chevallier, a Nutrition and Community Health Extension Agent with the LSU AgCenter. Shannan has proudly served with the LSU AgCenter since 2015 where she currently serves Winn, Jackson, and Lincoln Parishes.

Shannan holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s in Family and Consumer Science, and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Wellness. Her education, combined with her years of Extension experience, has allowed her to develop and deliver programs focused on nutrition, healthy living, community health, and improving the overall quality of life for the individuals and families she serves.

While nutrition and wellness are at the heart of her Extension work, Shannan also has a strong passion for community development and grant writing. She enjoys taking an idea, developing it into a project, identifying funding opportunities, and helping turn those ideas into programs and improvements that make a lasting impact.

In addition to her role with the LSU AgCenter, Shannan serves as the Winn Main Street Director, where she works to promote and strengthen the Winnfield community through partnerships, events, revitalization efforts, and projects designed to encourage growth and community pride.

Shannan especially enjoys bringing people and organizations together. Whether she is developing a health initiative, writing a grant, planning a community project, or creating a hands-on educational program, she believes strong partnerships are one of the greatest tools for creating positive change.

Outside of work, Shannan is married and a proud mom to a Louisiana Tech Bulldog, a LSU Tiger, and a high school senior—so there is plenty of school spirit in her household!

One fun fact about Shannan: She is a Dachshund lover! These little legs and big personalities get her every time.

For Shannan, Extension is more than sharing information. It is about building relationships, creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and making a difference in the lives of the people she serves.
