
The 4-H Livestock project allows youth to learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning opportunities. Participants gain independent responsibility, knowledge of production agriculture, and science through their projects. Youth can participate in the following project areas:

LSU AgCenter State Show: Dates TBA - Lamar Dixon Expo Center, Gonzales, LA

Any 4th– 12th grade 4-H member wanting to participate in the 4-H Horse Program must contact Mrs. Cherie at 985-873-6495 or croger@agcenter.lsu.edu by March 1, 2027. Information about the District, State, and other open horse shows will be sent to those members who contact Mrs. Cherie.
Possession date for horses is April 1, 2026. If you participated in the horse program in the past and plan to participate again this year, please contact Mrs. Cherie to let her know you will participate again this year.
Southeast District Horse Show is typically held in mid-June in Amite, LA. The state horse show is held in early July in Deridder, LA.
