Based out of the University of Georgia – Griffin campus, Candace Pollock-Moore is assistant director of the Southern Region SARE Program, as well as grant manager of the Producer Grants, On-Farm Research Grants and Graduate Student Grants programs. Before filling the Assistant Director position in 2020, Candace served as the program’s Communications Specialist. She has been with the SARE program for 10 years. Prior to her time with SARE, Candace worked in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.
Paul Vincelli has served as Extension Professor at the University of Kentucky for over 30 years. His specializations include disease management, molecular diagnostics, crop biosecurity, sustainability, agroecology, genetically engineered crops, climate change, and international agriculture. Paul’s involvement with the SARE program began as a State Ag Coordinator for Kentucky. His most recent assignment as the 1862 Land-Grant Liaison provides an exciting opportunity to work with thoughtful farmers and others in the continuing evolution of food systems.
Brennan Washington owns Phoenix Gardens, a small, diversified farm in Lawrenceville, GA that grows produce and raises laying hens and broiler chickens. He is a graduate of the Southern University Small Farm Agricultural Leadership Institute and the University of Georgia’s Advancing Georgia Leaders in Agriculture leadership program. Brennan was introduced to SARE through a Producer Grant he received to conduct research on his farm. Following his experience as a grant recipient, he served as a Southern SARE board member. He is currently the 1890 Land Grant Liaison and southeastern outreach coordinator for Southern SARE.Brennan had a long career in information technology management prior to starting his farming career.
