Donna Isaacsjpg

Donna Isaacs serves as executive director of Campti Field of Dreams where she implements triple-bottom-line principles and practices to foster sustainable growth and community revitalization. A graduate of the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, she is a United States Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (USGBC LEED – AP). She was recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation with a 2014 Innovation Award for the creative placemaking project, “Town of Campti: LEEDing the Way with History, Culture, the Arts and Entrepreneurship,” a model for the sustainable revitalization of rural municipalities. Under her leadership, Campti Field of Dreams has collaborated with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to conduct outreach in parishes facing persistent poverty. This currently includes the annual Back to Your Roots Sustainable Agriculture Conference, an Art & Ag Festival, a Get Your Hands Dirty series, and Sustainable Agriculture Farmer Education classes. In November, she purchased fourteen acres and started DeLaTerre Permaculture Farm with her partner Waylon Breaux. Once completed the small, diversified farm will include a 2 ½ acre market garden, ¼ acre orchard, 300 laying hens, 60 laying ducks, 25 Ewes, 25 Nannies, and 5 Cows. Additionally, she can pasture and process up to 7,200 chickens and 600 ducks annually.
