In 1949, the LSU AgCenter Sweet Potato Research Station was established near Chase. This station is responsible for developing sweet potato varieties that have helped keep producers viable and sustainable, not only in Louisiana, but globally as well. This video highlights some of the recent developments and research regarding sweet potato production.
