Stephania Imbachi Ordonez and Dr. Gillian Eggleston attended the ISSCT Engineering/Processing Workshop held October 7–10, 2024, in Berlin, Germany. Stephania Imbachi Ordonez was honored with the Early Career Scientist Award from the ISSCT Factory Commission for her presentations and research contributions. Her name will be submitted for the overall ISSCT Early Career Scientist Award at the 2025 Congress in Cali, Colombia.

Dr. Eggleston delivered a plenary presentation titled “Circular Sustainability of the Sugar Crop Processing Industry Through By-Product Utilization” and presented two technical papers. Stephania Imbachi Ordonez also presented research on “Implementing Near-Infrared Spectroscopy for Quantifying Trash/Extraneous Matter in the Louisiana Cane Payment System” and “Evaluation of Auto Filtration Equipment for Polarimetric Analysis.”
