Summer 2025 Update

Master Goat 2025

Master goat 2025.

We’re excited to officially announce the Master Goat course for this fall! This 3-day training will offer a valuable opportunity to expand your knowledge and connect with specialists and fellow producers. While the name suggests a focus on goats, much of the content will apply broadly to small ruminants. Please see the attached flyer for dates and additional details.

Small Ruminant Workshop – Farmerville

Trip Morgan in the Northeast region is hosting a small ruminant workshop in Farmerville. Think of this as a condensed version of what’s to come during the Master Goat course. This is a great opportunity for youth as well, especially as fall livestock shows begin ramping up.

Plot to Plate Series – Pointe Coupee Parish

Alli Decell is launching a multi-part series titled Plot to Plate, designed for homesteader-style producers working with smaller-scale operations. If you or someone you know is managing production on limited acreage, this is a great fit.

LGLCI Pasture Walk – Eros, LA

The Louisiana Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative is hosting a pasture walk at Miller Cattle Co. in Eros. Amy and Bubba Miller run a cattle and sheep operation, and this promises to be a valuable, hands-on learning experience.

Resource Highlight – Managing Heat Stress
