Dr. Gillian Eggleston and Stephania Imbachi Ordonez represented the Audubon Sugar Institute at SugarFest 2025, held on October 5, 2025, at the West Baton Rouge Museum grounds.

ASI hosted an educational booth where visitors learned about the sugar production process, the different types of sugar, and the role of sugarcane in Louisiana’s economy. The outreach activity engaged audiences of all ages and helped connect the public with science‑based information on sugarcane processing.

SugarFest is an annual community event celebrating the sugarcane harvest through cultural demonstrations, music, and hands‑on activities, providing an ideal setting for public education and industry outreach.
