Researchers from the Audubon Sugar Institute participated in the 2026 International Technical Meeting of the Society of Industrial Technologists (SIT), held April 19–22, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Ricardo Carcamo delivered an oral presentation titled “Role of Crystal Size Characterization in Seeding Set Points for Industrial Sucrose Crystallization,” focusing on crystallization control and process optimization.
Dr. Stephania Imbachi Ordonez presented “Crystallization Insights: What Supersaturation and Crystal Size Reveal about Industry Efficiency,” discussing operational insights from crystallization behavior.
Ms. Alexa Triplett gave a presentation on "Factory Trials of a New and Stronger Amylase to Control Starch" and presented a poster entitled “A Comparison of Methods to Measure Carry‑Over (Residual) Amylase in Refined and Raw Sugar.”
Prof. Giovanna Aita presented a poster titled “Dextranase Targets Dextran, Spares Non‑Dextran Gums,” highlighting selective enzymatic strategies for gum control in sugar processing.
Participation in this international meeting reflects ASI’s continued contribution to advancing sugar manufacturing science and global knowledge exchange.
