Mexican Rice Borer - Eoreuma loftini (Dyar)

After hatching, young larvae feed inside fresh leaf sheaths. Feeding of early instar of sugarcane borers and Mexican rice borers cause the same type of injury manifesting in an orange discoloration of the leaf sheath.
