Rice Stalk Borer, Chilo plejedellus (Zink)
After hatching, young larvae feed inside fresh leaf sheaths. Feeding of early-instar rice stalk borers, sugarcane borers and Mexican rice borers causes the same type of injury, manifesting in an orange discoloration of the leaf sheath.
