Meet the Agents

The Calcasieu Parish 4-H Youth Development team is dedicated to helping young people discover their potential, develop life skills, and become confident leaders in their communities. As LSU AgCenter 4-H Youth Development Agents, we work with youth, volunteers, schools, families, and community partners to provide educational experiences that inspire growth through hands-on learning.

Our programs focus on leadership, citizenship, healthy living, STEM, agriculture, environmental education, and career readiness. Through club meetings, camps, contests, service-learning projects, and special events, we create opportunities for youth to learn by doing while building skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.

Whether a young person is interested in public speaking, livestock, cooking, gardening, photography, robotics, shooting sports, or community service, 4-H offers a place where every child can belong, grow, and succeed.

We are proud to serve the youth of Calcasieu Parish and are committed to providing safe, inclusive, and engaging opportunities that help young people become productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our office is here to support families, educators, volunteers, and community organizations as we work together to prepare the next generation of leaders.

What Do 4-H Youth Development Agents Do?

4-H Youth Development Agents are educators with the LSU AgCenter who bring research-based programs and opportunities directly to local youth and communities.

Our responsibilities include:

• Coordinating parish 4-H clubs and school enrichment programs
• Organizing camps, contests, workshops, and educational events
• Training and supporting 4-H volunteers
• Developing leadership and citizenship opportunities for youth
• Providing hands-on learning experiences in STEM, agriculture, healthy living, and other project areas
• Building partnerships with schools, businesses, and community organizations
• Encouraging youth to explore their interests, develop life skills, and give back to their communities
